This holiday season, join the Etsykids Team for a ride in Santa's Sleigh! Starting November 1st through Christmas Eve, participating shops will be sharing the holiday cheer with a shop sale of their choice. Santa will be traveling to each shop to take advantage of these great savings and you can come along and perhaps snag a deal of your own! To help Santa, and so he doesn't get lost, we'll be tracking his journey with a new blog post at each regional stop and highlighting the stores he's visiting.

What the Heck is a Winklepot?

Well, if you break down the word, you get Wink and le'pot, so it's obvious that it means French pot smoker with an eye tick.

Okay, maybe not. I get asked a lot how I came up with Winklepots as a business name and it's actually my daughter's nickname. Her name is Peri and we started calling her Periwinkle and Winklepots. Yeah, I know, her nicknames are longer than her name, but whatever, parents are weird. I admit it.

I'm secretly hoping she meets a nice young man with the last name of Winkle or Winkler and they get married and live happily ever after. Then have Winklepots of their own. I won't admit that when she announces her first pregnancy to Jim and me that Queens "Another One Bites the Dust" will be playing in my head followed by mwahahahahaha, SUCKER! :oP

Woo hoo! Features are Fun!

So, I don't get featured often, I know, completely surprising considering how wildly popular I am (I think I just "heard" your eyes rolls), but I'm being featured TWICE. Oh yeah, twice and one of the local baby boutiques has started carrying my korker bows and clothing. I'll be dropping off several korker sets tomorrow and hopefully some clothing by the end of the week. Woot!

CPSIA Sale!! Woo hoo!!

So, originally, I was having a sale in my shop to help clear inventory before the impending doom that was to be inflicted on childrens items on 2/10 by the CPSIA, but now that the CPSC has agreed to a 1 year stay on mandatory testing, I am now having a celebration sale!
We're not out of the woods yet, but with this great news, it's definitely worth celebrating.
So all childrens items, clothing and accessories, are up to 66% off their original prices! Most clothing has been marked down $10 or more and all hair bows are now only $5.

Hurry, because the sale ends on 2/9/09.

Just in time for fall and cute to boot! We have candy corn, caramel apples and back to school. The latest accessory addition to our store is the glue-less korker bow pony-o's. All the cuteness of the originals, but now on a ponytail holder!

Stick It

Quite the unassuming box. It just sits on the top of the toilet in my bathroom. Those handy dandy daily lightday pads.

While I was in the shower today, my three year old ventured into the bathroom to say "Hi." She played around with some things on the counter and then left to continue watching Elmo. No big deal.

My daughter is not fully potty trained yet, so she still sleeps with a pull-up at nighttime and bedtime. As I was getting her ready for her nap, I noticed what looked like tissue between her legs. Uh oh. She had taken one of Mommy's lightdays and stuck it on... backwards. I had a good giggle, but my daughter wasn't too thrilled with the ouch factor. Good thing baby oil is such a life saver in sticky situations.

While this isn't my kid (thank goodness, can't imagine the ouch factor there), I was reminded of this picture and of the silly things that kids do. I'm willing to bet, she doesn't do it again. :oP
