Feature Friday - Pandy's

Q: Tell us a little about yourself; what makes you so special…
Well, what makes me special? My "me-ness". I'm not like anyone else on the planet (I'm sure you can hear the deep sighs of relief, applause and probably some "Thank God"s at that statement) I know I don't march to the beat of the drummer of the masses, but I'm okay with that. I do what makes me feel good. I know I have my faults, but so does everyone else. My kids think I'm the most amazing person on earth, my husband loves me as I am (truthfully, I think he's way more amazing than I am, but don't tell my kids that) and at the end of the day, I can like and respect what I see when I look in the mirror, so to me, those are the things that REALLY matter.

Q: What do you make/create?
I create things from textiles. Fleece apparel, quilts, tote bags, coasters...I'm quite proud of my beer quilts. It took many broken needles, hours of frustration and lots of mistakes, but I came up with the design all by myself.

Now onto the really important questions…

Q: If you were an appliance, what kind of appliance would you be? Why?
If I were an appliance, I'd probably be a can opener. I'm very curious, sometimes flat out nosy, so I always like to see what's in the can. You won't need to pay attention to me every single day, but when you need me, I'll be there, ready and waiting.

Q: Who was the last person you talked to on the phone?
The last person I talked to on the phone was my husband. He drives a tractor trailer, so our main form of communication during the week is via cell phone.

Q: What’s your most embarrassing moment?
My most embarassing moment? God, I have them pretty much every day. I tend to see, speak, THEN think. I did go out with a big glob of used blue painters tape on the arm of my tan suede jacket...like 3 days in a row. No one said anything.

Q: Movie star crush?
Movie star crush...I saw Titanic and then my next trip to the movies was to see Horton Hears a Who with the kids....I'm not really big on pop culture, so I don't know who I'd pick.

Q: Black and white or a hazy grey?
Misty grey (sounds a bit more exotic and mysterious than hazy grey)

Q: Who’s on your iPod?
I don't own an iPod. That was easy to answer.

Q: If Luke Skywalker and Harry Potter dueled, who would win? Why?
Well, by now, Luke Skywalker is probaby taking joint supplements and having some other aging issues (yes, I saw all the original Star Wars movies in the theater..I'm really THAT old) and he does have The Force, but Harry is younger, he has the invisibility cloak and all that magic and love, so I'm putting my money on Harry.

Q: Best advice you ever received?
Best advice I've ever received? When I went to college, my dad said "don't let academics get in the way of your education". I had no clue what he meant, but figured it out pretty quickly and still think it's very true of any situation in life....there is always more to learn than meets the eye. Never, ever discount someone or something as beneath you, or as being insignificant. You can always learn something from everything.

Great interview and a lovely shop! I love her blankets and totes. Lake Sunapee...sigh...now I'm being hit with another wave of "why I miss the Northeast". We used to drive through the Sunapee area on our way to Vermont. My mommy is from New Hampshire...only WAY further north, closer to Mt Washington.
